A robotic solution that automates laser welding and cleaning — built around a collaborative robot and powered by IPG's proven LightWELD laser technology. The step up from handheld, without the cost or complexity of a full industrial robot cell.
The LightWELD Cobot System pairs a 6-axis collaborative robot with IPG's field-proven LightWELD laser source. Instead of an operator moving the torch by hand, the cobot repeats the same precise weld or cleaning path every cycle — ideal for repetitive, higher-volume production runs where consistency matters as much as speed.
Because it's built on the same LightWELD platform used in the handheld range, the underlying welding and cleaning performance — presets, laser quality, duty cycle — carries straight across from the systems your operators may already know.

The same fast nozzle-swap capability from the handheld range, carried into an automated cycle — weld and pre/post-clean without manual intervention between passes.
Engineered safety controls around the automated cell, with an optional integrated safety enclosure for environments where a fully guarded workcell is required.
For shops that want a self-contained cell, the modular LightWELD Studio environment provides an alternative to a fixed enclosure — built around the same cobot platform.
